I got the email to set up my student account and did so last week. However, I am still getting errors if I try to access my student email or the LMS. The LMS makes sense to me since my course doesn't start until Monday, but the email is weird since my understanding is that's the only way they're going to communicate with me from here on out. Has anyone else run into this? I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything obvious before I contact Lamar U.

I'm having the same problem and contacting them did not seem to help.

How long did it take for you to get accepted? I wanna apply but the last batch of classes start in 4 days...
Edit: Applied, got an email saying they would process my app within 5-7 business days. 2 business days for classes to start. So its a long shot, but we'll see!

My application glitched to where it thought I was applying as a Visiting Graduate Student instead of the LU PEN. That should be the same thing.
Did you by change get a temporary password to your student account that you MUST write down or screenshot to put in your preferred password to access your student account? Its done on the Banner Self Serve where you put your L# and PIN and go to Personal Information then select Temporary Password for Student Account to set it up.

Yes, I did that and then changed the password. So I have a pin and password set up, and also created 6 or 7 security questions and successfully added Lamar to my Duo (multifactor authentication) app.

I can confirm they accept international students. If your selected module is full, they will e-mail you to tell you this, and ask you to pick a different one. The application fee was waived, and the admission type is (GV) Graduate Visiting Student.
If you are outside the NANP area, you must set up 2FA via Cisco Duo, because SMS 2FA does not work for international phone numbers. If you do not set it up when prompted, you will end up having to phone their support team to set it up before you can log in.
If your Microsoft login and university e-mail are not working, you need to contact IT Service Desk to get it enabled. Ironically, you need to log in via Microsoft to access the IT portal, but fortunately, you can also just e-mail them from your regular (non-university) e-mail address for this issue. Their account administration team needs to perform some manual actions to activate your account.
