Natural Sciences CLEP- can I pass if I'm terrible at Chemistry? - jacobsladder - 04-29-2009 Ugh, I just found out I need a 53 on Natural Sciences to get credit from my college, I thought it was a 50! I'm a bit confused, how many questions out of 120 do I need to get right to end up with a scaled score of 53? I know "about half right" gets you a 50, but I really wish I could know for sure what would get me a 53! To the person who said they didn't have to balance any equations on the test, I hope I get your version! I just took Peterson's DOD Natural Sciences test and got 61 right out of 120 (for some bizarre reason it said my scaled score was a 31 and they listed the highest score as 60, isn't it 80 in real life?). That may be enough for a 50 but is it enough for a 53? They say Peterson's is harder though . . . this is driving me crazy. then again maybe I'm just distracting myself from studying! Sci. exam approximately 65 or 66 questions to get a scaled score of 53. Also, did you use the free Peterson's exam, or did you pay for it? Because when I paid for the Peterson's exams, it gave me an accurate scaled score (based on a scale of 20-80). However, when I used the free Peterson's link, the scale was really messed up. Yes, the Peterson's exams usually are a little tougher than the real CLEP. I would recommend that you make sure you can pass the Peterson's test with room to spare. Then you can be fairly confident that you'll do well on the real thing. ![]() Natural Sciences CLEP- can I pass if I'm terrible at Chemistry? - jayas - 04-30-2009 Thank you Levi_1989.
