Wow, that's awesome. Just passed by 2 points, if I took it and passed - I would not care by how much, on with the next course!

I just finished the FIN-301 exam, Introduction to Finance. This was just a solid exam of moderate difficulty. I have to laugh because I have been starting to classify these Davar exams by whether they give four or five choices for the multiple choice section. Well this one has both. About half of the MC questions have four possibilities and about half have five possibilities. So the relative chances of guessing the correct answer are about midway between the two situations. I felt that the exam was pretty thorough in covering the material. The questions were just a little bit on the tricky side. I just had to keep telling myself to slow down and reread the question so that I could pick up all of the little complexities. So I feel pretty confident that I passed. The essay questions were not tricky. I would study the history of American banking, derivatives, the Federal Reserve and its monetary policies. [Edit: overly specific exam info removed by admin] I was also pleasantly surprised by how much about the 2008 financial crisis was on the exam. Also thrifts were the subject of some questions. I'll post results when they come in. I hope to get the other two finance exams in tomorrow and then I am pretty much done with Davar unless someone can give me a reason to take the Stats and College Algebra exams when I already have them.

I am so excited. I got the score report from FIN-301/Introduction to Finance. I scored an 84%. If the credits transfer to TESU as I expect, this means that I have finished the business core. Nice little milepost for me. I am working on a double concentration in CIS and accounting, so I have some work to do in those areas, but I am moving nicely through and I feel like I have picked a pretty good time to be doing all of this. I have also turned in grades at school and we concluded teacher contract negotiations early this year - I am president of my association - so I now have the summer to work on college credit, taking the twins and my son swimming and hiking. I am also taking economics graduate classes to work towards 18 to teach at cc and the graduate certificate in economics education at the University of Colorado. Also, if Smart.ly accepts me, I'll be working on their state-licensed MBA. Acceptances go out tomorrow.

I took the FIN-310/International Finance exam this morning. It is a four-choice multiple choice exam. I would rate the difficulty as in the mid to upper reaches of medium. Like most of the Davar exams, the powerpoint is good preparation for the exam. In my experience, I found the early and late portions of the powerpoint to be easier than the middle sections. If I had to do it again, I would put a little bit more time there. There are only a few lists of terms that need to be memorized here and the most important ones are short. I didn't study the quizzes, but that is personal preference. There was one essay that I didn't immediately know the answer to, but I have a lot of background knowledge that I usually can work into these essays. I think that I passed, especially given that this is solely a four-choice test rather than five.

I think it's two months. It's an ouchie and long wait, I know...
I would highly recommend just taking another course elsewhere if that ever happened.

For those of you who are racing through the Davar exams, here's a question:

So, I started studying for my first one - Intro to Computers. (I know, really behind). I looked at the powerpoints, and then I'm doing the quizzes. Seems to me there are a lot of questions on the quizzes that the powerpoints don't cover. Do I need to know the info. from the quizzes as well?

Thanks!!

Yes, as most of the information that they will test you on is based on the "powerpoint/slides" AND the quizzes. You need to know them well.
