Hey everybody!

I just took the College Composition, and wanted to let you guys know what it consists of. As you probably know by now, the College Composition CLEP is made up of three sections: 50 multiple choice, and two essays. You have 50 minutes to complete the multiple choice questions. When it comes to the essays, I had 30 minutes in which to complete the first essay, and forty for the second.

The first essay; I had to take a position on a topic, for example, "Are A and B good things because of this, or bad things because of this?".

The second essay; I had to read two short essays, form my opinion, and support it with citations from the included essays. I had to CITE all paraphrases and quotations that I included.

Hope this helps!

Just remember that Excelsior does not take the English CLEP exams to satisfy their Written English Requirement. You should be safe with COSC and TESC, TESC I know for sure.

Do you know if ECE would accept Modular if they administered the essay portion of it? From what I've been able to gather, Modular was created specifically to give colleges more control over the essay aspect of the exam.

In my school, if you just take the m/c with composition module, you are not getting 3 credit even you pass it. you have to take the essays and make sure you make 13 out 16 to get 3 credits and 14 out of 16 to get 6 credits. I really don't like the grading systme. that is the reason I have postpose my last clep test.
