I will say that I feel where he's coming from. Online activities would be so much easier if everyone would just accept PayPal as a payment. I hate when I'm relaxing on the couch, see something I want to buy, and then have to get up from my coziness just to find a credit card. I can't tell you the amount of items I've turned down because of pure laziness and not wanting to move. I guess that's a good thing for my bank account though...

You can use some secure method of storing your cc numbers on your computer, or have a paper or duplicate card next to your couch

As a payments industry professional please do not do this. Use a good mobile wallet that doesn't store your actual number but uses token numbers for payment. Think Apple Pay, Samsung pay, proprietary retailer wallet, etc.
Storing your number in the clear anywhere is a recipe for disaster. </PSA>
