Calc I is pretty easy to find. It's the other Calculus courses that are more difficult. But does anyone know how Outlier courses are proctored?

I believe I read a review somewhere complaining that outlier uses examity proctoring. I have no experience with them.

Well it's not offered by some of the more commonly used sources such as Sophia and InstantCert. And this is RA credit not ACE credit.

Calculus is offered by SL, SDC, and even Saylor, though. You can also CLEP it or take it from ASU (not super thrilled about ASU for Calc, personally, but it it is RA and has a lower initial investment than Outlier and costs roughly the same once you pass the course).

SL, SDC, and Saylor aren't RA credit. Neither is CLEP. For those who need RA credit such as folks wanting to attend COSC, this may benefit them and with many schools limiting ACE credit, this could help them, too.

Plenty of people here take CC courses all the time - it's why we recommend NMJC and a handful of others all the time.
And yes, about 50% of states have expensive CC tuition, and will look elsewhere, while about 50% will have less (and sometimes FAR less expensive tuition), in which case they may want to check that out before paying $400 for a course. Especially one where it's not self-paced, and happens on a traditional semester schedule.
This MAY be a good option for some, and MAY not be for others. But we always try to throw out there the different options for everyone to remind them what might be right in their own backyard.
