Am currently in this class, based on seeing it on this and other degree forum. Have found it helpful so far as well, with the learnings on how to source references for writing projects. Instructor very engaging, with personalized helpful feedback on each assignment.

I just finished LIB-101 Intro to Library Research and WR-128 Intro to APA Style/Documentation at Clackamas. I'd highly recommend everyone take these courses early on in their college journey. Not only are they cheap RA credits, but they're also full of information useful for the rest of your academic career.
LIB-101 takes a deep dive into searching, exploring iterative web and database searches with many keyword variations and advanced operators. Although I already knew a lot of the material from my prior research experience, I still picked up some useful tools and strategies.
WR-128 might be better named Academic Research and Writing in APA Style. It goes far beyond simple citations, covering source integration and academic writing mechanics. I learned a lot in this course; it includes many pointers not provided anywhere else. When drafting papers, I'm no longer dependent on questionable templates and buggy citation generators.
Both of these courses have numerous deliverables required for their single credits. The individual assignments, quizzes, and discussions generally aren't massive, but the required time adds up fast. In particular, the WR-128 workload eclipsed some of my prior three credit ASU courses.
The instructors are very motivated and want all students to walk away having mastered the course concepts. They usually allow multiple attempts and revisions on quizzes and assignments.
An A is easily achievable in LIB-101 and a bit harder to get in WR-128.
Overall, I had a great experience at Clackamas. Unfortunately, they don't offer any other relevant cheap/free credits. If you're in Oregon or a state with tuition reciprocity, definitely look at CCC, though!

I also took LIB-101. I really appreciate everything about Clackamas, and the instructor really is awesome. And the fact that it's all free is amazing. However, I was not expecting the amount of work and time I needed to complete the course. They estimate that you'll need 3-4 hours per week, but for me it started at 3 hours and went up an hour or two every week. Apparently I'm far below average in that regard. On the other hand, it has made me very grateful for competency-based education!

Here are the TESU equivalencies:
LIB-101: LIS-101 Intro. to Library Resources 0.67
WR-128: ENG-199 Special Topics in English 0.67
No clue why TESU gave 2/3rds of a credit hour for each of these. Maybe they thought that CCC is a quarter hour school, which they aren't.

Might be worth appealing, if only because 0.67 credits is ugly if it's not needed.  Big Grin

Looking at their catalog again, I'm not actually sure what system Clackamas is on. Apparently their associates degrees require 90 credits (indicating a quarter hour system), but their classes are largely a mix of 3, 4, and 5 hours?

They're on a quarter system. See, for example, the credit equivalencies for AP and CLEP: https://www.clackamas.edu/academics/academic-offerings/degrees-and-certificates/other-credit-options

Or the 5-credit biology classes, including BI-213, "the third quarter of a three-quarter sequence of a laboratory course" - https://catalog.clackamas.edu/course-descriptions/bi/

Yep, it appears that you’re right. Wow, that means these Clackamas courses have an exceptionally poor work to credit ratio. They’re still worth taking for their content, but the credit granted is unjustifiably low.

How long does it take to get a response after sending in the application? I submitted it as a visiting student on Tuesday and I haven't gotten any response from them at all.
