I have a week left until July 1st deadline for graduation and this Accounting course is stressing me out to the point where I'm sick of looking at anything to do with Accounting.

When I was getting my accounting degree, I was introduced to a course by Norm Nemrow... who is honestly the best accounting teacher ever. If there is a topic you don't understand, a lot of his stuff is free online here. http://www.learnaccountingforfree.com/topics

BTW, for Saylor... if you came that close to passing Davar, I would just skip straight to the final exam and take it over and over until you're scoring really well. Last I remember, they also used proctorU so that probably means scheduling the exam ahead of time, which is worth keeping in mind if you're on a tight schedule.

They let people pay $5 or so to avoid the scheduling.

Thanks for listing your upcoming plans. I did not realize that the Saylor and Davar Management Information exams do not duplicate. That is great, although I think that is the one I have had difficulty with at Saylor. I have scored a 58 and 68. I will have to double back and pick that one off.

Eriehiker:

I just checked the Saylor site for Management Information Systems - it looked like it was pretty similar to the Davar Intro to Computing that I just passed. Is that the test that you are talking about? (And not the one labeled "Strategic Information Technology" which comes in MIS in TESU?)

Thanks

I didn't get to take Earth Science today. I'm regretting that I began studying for it instead of other exams. Maybe tomorrow or the next day.

I did take Mathematics for Business. Some questions were challenging which I did not expect. I definitely do not think the slides were enough preparation, at least not if someone wants to get a good grade instead of barely pass. It depends on their test taking skills, Personal Finance skills, etc. It helps to already know some of the math from Financial Accounting or Principles of Finance.

I can't do anymore today. I am trying to do 9 more exams in the next 8 days.

I'm pretty sure that the Introduction to Accounting exam eviscerated me; the study notes only moderately helped for that one, and though I did study supplemental material elsewhere, I was far from prepared for this one. This one is a definite fail; I looked through and could not count (even generously) 70 points that could be considered correct.

Looks like I will need seek Option B for this particular course.

Regarding the Communications course, would anyone know if the speech portion deliverable at a later date, after the $99 subscription ends?

Thanks everyone for all your help and suggestions, I'm going to try my luck with Saylors Intro to Accounting on Monday and try to study more throughout the weekend to prepare for it. I passed Moral and Political Philosophy last night and I got my results for Davars CIS 315 - I passed with a 94% which is my highest grade from Davar yet.

Just two exams left and I can apply for graduation.

I just have to take Saylors Microeconomics and Intro to Accounting and I'm finished Smile

Both of which are the only ones I failed from Davar. But definitely got a good deal passed 5 out of 7 I took, so I got 15 credits out of Davar. Overall a good experience.

You can apply for graduation now, there is no way TESU will get your transcripts and evaluate them in time anyways so you have a nice month or so lag anyways. The benefit to apply now is you move up in the que to be evaluated.

I'm starting the Advanced Strategic Mgmt exam soon. In studying, I think my TECEP studying has helped a little, and I hope this will help me study for the TECEP. Even when there is not a direct overlap of concepts, I am sure it's helping me understand and remember better.

I'm feeling somewhat burnt out on business and also the type of studying. I wish I had more exams which were not finance and math related. However, I thought Earth Science would be more of a break, and it's not. It has so many definitions and scientific concepts.

I decided to do Microeconomics through CLEP instead. So after this one, I will have 7 to do. I hope I can do another exam today, but I have been spending most of my time on Davar this whole week, since early Sunday morning, and I may be better off with almost 24 hours away from Davar.
