Did you receive this info about the FCC credits being in addition to the 25 from a TESC advisor? My daughter has 27 FCC FEMA credits. Do you know if she would be able to use them all towards the 33 Emergency Disaster Services credits or would she still be limited to 15 in that area? Thank you! Danielle Utilizing FEMA credits toward an Emergency Management Degree - brain122 - 06-18-2009 has anyone done the breakdown of how FEMA course equivalent works? Also, can more than 25 FEMA credits be used for the BSHS at TESC? No. You can use 15 FEMA credits for your major. The rest would fall under free electives. I've attached the FEMA course breakdown that TESC gave me. Hope that helps! I'm almost finished with my degree so if you have any other questions I would be glad to help.

Thanks for the break down. That's a great help. So, what you are saying is that 15 Fema can be used toward degree and any other Fema are electives............is that saying you can only use 10 more Fema beyond the first 15 or is there a total limit? Also, can you give a breakdown of you path thus far? Congrats! on what you've done so far. You are sooooooo close. That's exciting. The breakdown for FCC......do those count as science courses or where do they go, if you transfer them from FCC into another school? I,T,A.......I'm wondering what part of a degree this will count towards. I know it depends on the school, but in general, I would guess they are science courses. Are any of the considered UL or are they all LL courses? Thanks for any help. Utilizing FEMA credits toward an Emergency Management Degree - annegirl - 06-19-2009 You can use 15 FEMA for your area of focus (only for Emergency Management). You can use 10 more for free electives. If you're not doing EM then it would be 25 free electives only. I don't know about FCC's breakdown. TESC breaks it down: T = Theory A = Applied FE = Free Elective I don't know that any school would apply the credits as science. Most I think apply them as free electives (if they take them at all) ![]() I will post my degree plan in a bit...I have to tweak some things first. Utilizing FEMA credits toward an Emergency Management Degree - brain122 - 06-20-2009 Did I read somewhere in the threads that if you sent any extra Fema to FCC and they came into TESC on a FCC transcript they would take the others beyond the 25? I thought I did, but maybe I did not. Thanks for sharing your pathway. That's great. We are considering this but not sure yet. TESC told me that they would only take 25 FEMA, doesn't matter if they come from FEMA or from FCC. That is all they will take period. Would be nice though! I've found Central Georgia Tech to be a great place to take the extra EM classes needed. They're fairly inexpensive, online and the instructor is really nice. Good luck deciding! It's an awesome field to be in.

Question for you- my oldest son is 15, and he has an interest in helping professions. He is getting ready to take the CPR certification/life guarding so he can start work when he turns 16. He is talking to me about doing a paramedic program. Our local hospital offers an associate degree option and they take CLEP! I'm thinking that I might have him work on the TESC requirements without enrolling. The paramedic program requires 1 year on campus doing face to face, but I think he could work on the TESC requirements at the same time. I'm going to print off your degree plan- I noticed you didn't finish filling it in Did you change it, or was that what you ended up with?
