DAVAR June - Unlimited exams $99 - Ideas - 06-26-2017 sarg123 Wrote:I do appreciate the validation! I know I'm not generally stupid, but those slides were making me feel that way! I know the feeling! I finally took my next Davar exam, Corporate Finance. I had about 48 hours where I didn't take one, which is partly because of confidence issues and partly burn out. I think my top mistake was studying for Earth Science and then worrying a lot about not passing. I still feel burnt out, but I hope I am back on track now. I felt I was pretty well prepared for the Corporate Finance exam, but I did not really study the math. I was able to do most of the math, I think, but I know I will lose points there. If someone does not already know Financial Accounting or Principles of Finance, or has trouble with them, then you should spend plenty of time on studying the math. And I feel like the exam would be stressful if someone is shaky on math, because the amount is a bit overwhelming, even though there are many questions that aren't math related. Overall Corporate Finance scared me more than I had to be. I guess the exam reminded me of the the math from Intro Accounting plus the concepts from Macroeconomics, but more business oriented. The "required" textbook is almost 1200 pages, so that is part of why it seemed scary. Eriehiker already said this, but the exam had lots of questions where you had to choose the false statement. Those were tiring. I felt that you really need to have a "fresh" mind going into the exam because of that and the math, unless you find math easy. For the false statement questions, know the slides! I am glad to have this behind me. I feel that Multinational Business Finance will be easier, and I hope to get that one done. Although I decided to cross off one exam a couple days ago, I am behind again. I have 5 exams I want to take, and there are 4 days after today, although I have done a bunch of studying for 2 of them. I am hoping to get Meteorology done today. DAVAR June - Unlimited exams $99 - sarg123 - 06-26-2017 Ideas Wrote:I know the feeling! How did you study for Corporate Finance? Were the slides and quizzes enough? I might try this as I WOULD ideally like a finance concentration. Thanks!!! DAVAR June - Unlimited exams $99 - sarg123 - 06-26-2017 I just checked all my downloads - they're all about half of the new downloads. Did anybody else have this experience? Which is the correct slides to study from? So confused  DAVAR June - Unlimited exams $99 - Ideas - 06-26-2017 I haven't tried redownloading the slides. I hope I am not missing any. I am thinking of trying to do 6 exams instead of 5, but that's really pushing it. I wish that I had not studied as hard on the earlier exams, so I had more energy for these. But when I am in the midst of studying, it's hard to know how much is enough. DAVAR June - Unlimited exams $99 - ECH90 - 06-26-2017 Glad to hear it! I noticed that only half had downloaded when I had to try and use my husbands Ipad, because my kid took mine and there were way more slides! Went back and checked its happen to me a few times I will say that on Man390 I found that almost all of the information was in the slides and a lot of the multiple choice questions in the test were pulled from the Quizzes. I am working on International management next did you find that hard?
DAVAR June - Unlimited exams $99 - Ideas - 06-26-2017 I would say study from the slides which have the most info. Otherwise it's like you're only studying part of the material. It seems likely you will find many questions that you have no idea about. sarg123 Wrote:How did you study for Corporate Finance? Were the slides and quizzes enough? I studied the slides a lot, and when the slides were confusing, I read about the concept online and in the textbook. I used 3 Study.com videos for one concept. I did not look at the quizzes, but I have good study skills and I'm a good test taker. Reading the slides alone does not seem like enough, unless someone has an excellent memory. I do think someone can pass with just the slides, especially if they have familiarity with Intro Finance or Financial Accounting, especially both, or prior knowledge of investing. Or if they are good at learning concepts like in Economics. But with the slides only, they wouldn't really understand a bunch of the concepts. They would just know enough to click the right multiple choice button. DAVAR June - Unlimited exams $99 - ECH90 - 06-26-2017 I am assuming the longer one is the correct one as the longer ones seem to have more information ;( I wonder why it's doing that I had assumed it was just happening to me for some odd reason. I had downloaded them about a month ago to see if I wanted to do the exams, and they must have changed it since then  I thought that almost all the info. was covered on the slides (I studied from the smaller version), but alot of questions were pulled from the practice quizzes as well (which I had thought wasn't necessary so I didn't study it). I did not know one essay question, maybe it was on the missing slide ??!! Oh, well. Still passed. And, considering how much information I missed, I feel really good about my mark! For MAN390 - glad to know that I should study quizzes as well, I'll do that now. Thanks! DAVAR June - Unlimited exams $99 - Ideas - 06-26-2017 In the English category, Davar has an upcoming exam listed. "Art and Literature 101 (coming soon)". Most likely, it will be after the month is over, but perhaps it will be available before then. I did Intro to Finance and Financial Accounting in a "real" classroom, had 100% average in both, so I might give this test a try! Thanks! Also, it's good to know it's possible to pass with just the slides. Considering that I'm running out of time, I might just chance it. |
