Jessic responded and will be Fall 2025. There are still some faculty members are being finalized. But tentative start day is August last week.
Just confirming, this is for the BI concentration specifically?
I think BI might be added in fall session 2 or even next year. I say that because they may not have enough professors to teach BI and fall 2 is when they may release the cs program. Here’s the link to the post they made a while ago.

Right, we have known about those 3 concentrations starting first for a few months now. I thought kakasahib was reaching out about the BI concentration specifically and was going to report back, so when he did I was a bit surprised with his response. I hope we hear an announcement soon. I want to plan my next degree, but don't want to jump into something else if this one will be starting say Spring 2026.

I just sent her a general email and I don’t know her that well. Not sure if that would matter as I’ve seen some people get some “insider” info from success coaches, like dori, Jessica or Cody Humphrey etc since they built rapport with them.
I’ll come back to my comment in the future because I’m estimating bi and finance might be released for fall 2 this year or possibly even spring or summer of next year. They don’t seem to have enough professors and are only releasing 3 concentrations in fall. Which most people don’t seem interested in but there’s maybe enough profs to teach/grade.

UMPI's staff cannot confirm when programs will launch until it's officially announced by the university. They do have to hire staff for the new programs and that takes time. The plan was always to offer 3 concentrations to start with. They did change which would be the first 3 probably because of staffing. UMPI and all of U of M makes degree programs which are in demand in the state of Maine. So while it may not look like people on Discord care, that's not UMPI's concern. They focus on their residents as they are a state university. They conduct research before creating new degrees.

This may have already been shared and I missed it. I was watching the May 19, 2025 UMS Board of Trustees Meeting on YouTube and starting around the 1:20:00 mark they are discussing your pace. At the 1:27:00 mark They mention they just added an 11th concentration which is AI Policy and Strategy. This one sounds awesome. I’m nervous they won’t allow two MSB degrees. I need to see if I can find the filing on this one.
Additionally, they mentioned they are adding an Artificial Intelligence focus to their Bachelors of Business Administration. UMPI with some exciting programs!

It doesn’t seem to be an option on the application but would it even be possible to sign up without a concentration? Or I wonder start with one and later transfer to another if it rolls out before your done?

You can always change your concentration after being accepted in the program... Seasons change, people do too (I'd do so to get in and change it if needed when it rolls out)...

The main thing I still want to find out is, any undergraduate classes able to transfer into this, like the MAOL... No one has reported anything yet, so I think it's still up in the air... I am hoping they'll have at least 4 choices, and 3 being able to transfer in.
