DAVAR June - Unlimited exams $99 - sanantone - 05-29-2017 eriehiker Wrote:I have taken four classes from Davar. The grade in two of them was based completely on the final - MAT 202 and ACCT 302. MAR 101 had a midterm, a final and a paper. MAR 330 had a final and a paper. At least, that is how I remember it. All of them had the magic powerpoint and most had a series of study quiz sets. One of the classes had an assignment based on a Pearson online database. I used creative searching to find the answers and fudged the paper. None of this should dissuade people from taking these classes. I really kind of like them. I also like the fact that the writing gives a fudge factor. It gives you a chance to write yourself out of a box. Thanks for the detail. I only looked at the accounting and finance courses because those are what I needed to finish. DAVAR June - Unlimited exams $99 - sarg123 - 05-29-2017 I just checked the descriptions again. You're right, the class I'm looking at does say "The studentâs final grade will be based solely on a final examination." But, earlier in the same page, they do say that you must have access to Pearson labs, so that's what was confusing. Maybe Pearson lab is only necessary if you want to do the "optional" homework? Or if you need more info? I'm guessing. There are quite a few classes that I still need, so it's really nice to know that Davar is still on the table. Thanks for clarifying! DAVAR June - Unlimited exams $99 - StoicJ - 05-29-2017 I want to take a management class and 2 finance. Course info says lots of reading, and Pearson access which I doubt I will NEED. Quick search says i can get recent-enough textbooks for cheap. And the 2 exams with 10 essay questions each, well, they have 60 multiple choice also.... so they aren't going to be looking for long essays. Think I will push my Strat Man TECEP exam into June so i can knock out some Davars. DAVAR June - Unlimited exams $99 - dfrecore - 05-30-2017 sarg123 Wrote:I just checked the descriptions again. You can register for free - which I just did - and then you have access to the course descriptions and other course information. I don't want to pay for that. But I would pay for an old version of the textbook. Edit: I found out more and posted again. I'm guessing I was guessing that the Pearson online access is the only way to get the topic and details for the paper, for the ones that have a paper. Edit: I wasn't looking carefully enough. They give info about the case study for the Principles of Sales course. Edit: However, it's not actually a paper, but you have to look at a database and answer questions. I don't see a way to get database access without paying Pearson. I wish I could. It seems like I would only need access for an hour at most. DAVAR June - Unlimited exams $99 - icampy - 05-30-2017 Ok, so it looks like every exam says you have to buy a textbook and have pearson access. But I think you can just study the quizzes and powerpoint, hopefully. What I'm hoping is, instead of studying 1000 different things, they took their test and created the slides and quizzes from it, so that you can just study those. I guess I will just lose out on 100 bucks if those aren't enough to pass the exam. DAVAR June - Unlimited exams $99 - High_Order1 - 05-31-2017 I think I'm gonna bite on their American Govt. Course, and if I can hack that, then their Info Lit course. Anybody have any insight into them? First blush says you download the package, then take the test when you're ready. How many questions? Multiple guess or any writing involved? I see they accept proctor U, so that makes me happy. One less variable to rule out, anyway...
