TESC - Letter of appeal for acceptance for applicant under 21 - Paul - 05-13-2010

At what point is the letter of appeal to TESC introduced for an applicant under 21? As we understand it, we submit the on-line application & pay the $75.00 application fee. However, since the applicant is under 21 a letter of appeal is needed. Where does it fit in with the application process? The 60 credit hours for the Associate Degree in General Business have been completed so we would like to apply, have the CLEPS ect sent to TESC, receive the evaluation & apply for graduation for the Associates as a step towards the BS. Just not sure where the letter of appeal should be in the application process.
Thanks for your help!

I payed my application fee and sent my CLEP and Dantes transcripts to TESC before I sent my letter of appeal. You do have to pay the application fee, but I believe that the sending of transcripts isn't required. I did it that way so my initial evaluation would include all of my credits to date, basically a confidence booster! Hope this helps...

I'm under 21, and did it a little differently:

1) After earning 78 credits and within one year of graduation, I mailed a letter to David Hoftiezer, Director of Admissions, asking him to waive the age requirement.

2) He sent me an email stating that he agreed to let me enroll. He then told me to complete the online application and pay the $75 fee.

3) I completed the application and had my CLEP/DSST transcripts sent to TESC.

4) Still waiting on my evaluation...Have no idea how long it might take. In the meantime, I'm continuing to test and have each new score sent to TESC.

Smile

Ok so my sisters are under 21...one has 24 college credits and the other has 27 (via CLEP). We filled out and submitted TESC's online application (including the $75), expecting a request for a letter and transcripts from TESC. Well, that came, and the man who sent it said he looks for applicants with at least 30 college credits. I figured it isn't a big deal, as they're close enough—they'll just send in the letters and transcripts and it hopefully shouldn't be a problem—but wanted to ask if anyone else has run into this? Or maybe it's a new thing TESC is doing?

Interesting, I'd like to hear about this too.
