My thoughts on Here's To Your Health - vpinkham - 01-05-2007 I posted earlier that I took the Here's to Your Health test yesterday, and passed with a 60. Mr. Moderator said it would be nice to post some pointers about the test. So here goes... I took the computerized test, which from posts I had read, thought may be more difficult than the pencil/paper exam was. It's hard to judge, not knowing how the old test was, but I think this probably was harder. Things that I think helped me were: 1 - IC and 2 - a college level General Health book, and 3 - lots of studying! On the test, there seemed to be a lot of questions about different types of birth control and contreceptives. Also questions about illegal drugs. There were more "symptom" questions that I expected, questions that asked you like for example "If you have diabetes, what would your symptoms be?" It wasn't enough to know that diabetes is a problem caused from insulin issues. This was my 1st test in 15 yrs. So that may be why I thought it was hard, I don't know. Anyway whoever's next - I hope this helps. Valinda  My thoughts on Here's To Your Health - sgloer - 01-05-2007 Thanks for taking the time to post that Valinda! Every little tidbit could make a difference for someone out there. ![]() My thoughts on Here's To Your Health - nynavey - 01-09-2007 I took the Here's to Your Health test just before Christmas after about a week of brief studying only the things on this site, and passed it with a 69. I am not a big science fan, but I was a nurse assistant about 10 years ago, and I think this background helped me score on the test. Some of the questions were no-brainers, then others were really tough. As the previous poster suggested, know which street drugs are narcotics and which aren't, and know your cancers (there are many types, lymphomas, melanomas, etc.). I wish I had known a bit more about these topics. On the brighter side, there are questions about calories and weight loss and heart health that we all likely know due to advertising that focus on the fitness trend. I have taken 5 other CLEP tests, but this was my first DANTES one. I took the computer version as well. I hope the rest are as easy as this one. Good luck to all. This was not as easy as I thought it would be. I used IC along with the passyourclass.com study guide, and there was still a lot of material on the test that wasn't covered. Don't take this test lightly! I thought I was more than prepared but it turns out I barley made it! Oh well, one more test next week and I will be finished! My thoughts on Here's To Your Health - sgloer - 01-11-2007 Congrats, a pass is a pass, but if there're any topics you had particular trouble with that you can contribute to this forum, please do! ![]() My thoughts on Here's To Your Health - wannabeit - 01-11-2007 Congratulation! |
