Passed Biology - poindexter - 01-10-2007 I been watching these forums for awhile now and thought I should give my feedback in regards to the Biology Clep exam. I got a scaled score of 58 which is a pass. This is my first Clep test. This test was really hard. A lot harder then I thought it would be. The difficulty level I was expecting was somewhere in between the Peterson’s exams and Official College Board’s exam. This test was more difficult then both of them. Many of the questions were not in any of the study material I used. I think there is a very big question pool or they changed the exam, and if your lucky you will get some basic questions but if not, you will get hit hard with many difficult questions. I ran out of time and had to guess on seven questions and also had to guess on a lot of questions that were unfamiliar. I spent over a month studying. Probably a couple hours every day. If I was to start over not knowing what material to study, I would get a college biology book, read it then go through the REA book then practice the moc exams and IC. I had no biology background and am sure that other people will be able to pass with enough study time. The study material I used is: REA Book-It is a good primer that barely gives you enough knowledge to pass the test. There is a lot of question on the actual exam that this book does not cover. The questions in the back of the book are not realistic regarding the difficulty level of the actual exam.. I do not recall seeing any of their practice questions on the real exam. However I do recommend this book. Peterson’s Test- I took all three of their tests and scored over 65 percent on them. The difficulty level for the Peterson’s test is slightly easier or comparable to the real exam. I seen some information I learned from the Peterson’s test on the real exam. Official Study Guide-These questions were easier then the actual exam however the structure of the questions were similar to the actual exam, I only saw one or two questions that worded differently on the real exam IC- I did not go through all of the questions. However I did learn from the question I did take. I think it is a good additional study aid. Standard Deviant Biology Video-I thought this video was good, kind of strange but good for reinforcing the information you retained from reading the REA book and other sources. My next test will be Natural Science next week. I hope that test will not be as hard as Biology. Passed Biology - Blonco - 01-10-2007 Congrats!! Thanks for the feedback on the test! Other than that, no study material, but a lot of our members like to use them in conjunction with our materials. Passed Biology - nebulac43 - 01-11-2007 I will be starting today for my March exam..So the Peterson Guide is helpful?I will be using REA, and IC plus a Biology Book. I will purchase Petersons guide if it helps.. Thank you for all your support Passed Biology - poindexter - 01-11-2007 I would do a search on this forum in regards to the Peterson guide, there is a lot of information on where to obtain it. |
