I want to Jump in but i got some questions - pspdarkhanseo - 08-18-2010 I am planning to go to one of big 3 here for BS in business but I give some questions. 1. CLEP and DSST friendly? Also can i complete my whole degree using CLEP and DSST? 2.Doesn't charge huge fees for CLEP tests , graduation fee , or out-of-state fees? 3. Fast and responsive Financial Aid? 4. what the cost for books? I'am broke, but I want to get this started. What are the out-of pocket expenses you've paid before even starting one class or test? I'm not military, so I cannot get an application fee waiver but if you have tips on waivers and getting some free stuff from a school that wants you, what did you do? Your answers are there:o I want to Jump in but i got some questions - frankiebleyes - 08-19-2010 Unfortunately, you cannot get financial aid to take Cleps and DSSTs. However, I studied for each one and then averaged two a month. The total cost for me was slightly under $100.00 per test. In the case of the six hour credit cleps that is one great deal. TESC lets you complete all of your hours via cleps and DSSTS. I am not sure about the other two colleges. I'm down to needing two classes and have been saving for my admission to TESC and graduation costs. My son completed all but twenty of his hours and qualified for financial aid with TESC (Pell Grant) and it is paying for his last twenty hours at present. He has to complete those hours with courses from TESC. Presently my hope is to graduate spring with my son. Jump in the water is fine and its quite a ride.
