Humanities CLEP - JennaDalmane - 09-21-2010

I have passed 6 CLEP tests on one try...not difficult at all. I'm studying "Best Test Prep...Humanities" and it is very frustrating. I feel like I'm not retaining any of this information. Can anyone recommend better study material for this test? I'm out of work and I have to pass this test the first time. Thank you!
Jen

The only thing I really used to study was IC and an excel spreadsheet that someone posted to the Humanities thread. Every once in a while when I was studying, if I felt like I didn't "get" something, I would read about it in Wikipedia.

I didn't study too hard, but did this every day for about two weeks and passed with a 67. It was not an easy test, and some questions just boil down to good test taking skills, but I think most people here have passed it.

Thanks. I need to find that Humanities thread. I just found this forum today so I'm trying to find my way around.

The exam I felt was easy. I looked over that spreadsheet, studied off and on for 3 days then took the test.

I finished with an hour still to spare and a score of 64.

Jenna, The thread I am referring to is the one on the subscriber's only section. If you're not a subscriber yet, I would recommend it even if you're only studying for Humanities as it was really helpful. Even with the $$ you spend on IC, it's still the cheapest 6 credits out there
:-)

Save yourself the money. I found the spreadsheet and will send it to whomever.

Send a message.

Also, I thought that once a subscriber, access was always granted to the Private forum, just not IC.

Oh well, I guess I read that wrong.

Edit: Added spreadsheet.

I appreciate that. I lost my job and I'm on a tight budget. I'm finding no one will look at my resume with at least an associate's degree.

Hi. I consider myself pretty well-read, but I feel like the Humanities clep questions are all over the place. Is it even possible to study for it? Is the only way to pass to already know this stuff? If i use study guides and speedy prep and things like that, will those tools actually help me? Are the questions on these study tools going to show up in the exam? help!

As long as you're a subscriber, you should have access to the Specific Exam thread. If you're having trouble accessing it and you're a subscriber, make sure you've associated your forum account with your IC account. If you still have trouble, send one of the admins a PM or Email Steve directly. They always take care of it quickly.

Edit: Blasted old threads being resurrected!

@jcotzin

It's a broad test. That's why so many people like using IC since it tends to focus your study on just what you need. Check out the specific feedback thread I'm talking about above if you subscribe. The feedback there will help you target what's important to learn. There's also some free resources floating around here. Just run a search for "Humanities" in the forums.
