Financial Accounting CLEP - logintel - 01-06-2011 Hi, I am new to InstantCert. I have taken CLEP tests before and have had good luck with the REA books along with used textbooks from Amazon Marketplace for study material. I've earned credit for Micro-Economics, Psychology, Sociology, and Marketing. I've tried the same method with Financial Accounting but have one major problem. I keep falling asleep while studying. I have turned to InstantCert in hopes of a more stimulating experience. If I pass the Accounting exam I am done with my BS Information Technology. If anyone has any useful tips about this exam please share your thoughts. Thanks! Financial Accounting CLEP - MISin08 - 01-06-2011 Welcome to the forum, and congratulations on your CLEP successes! Financial Accounting was the one exam I didn't use IC for and instead relied on the REA. I've worked in accounting in a bank (which is not like accounting anywhere else) and you'll see below it was my lowest score. The best advice I have is try to think of accounting concepts spatially and relationally -- if you can grasp database normalization, Accounting is within your reach. Phillip Financial Accounting CLEP - logintel - 01-06-2011 Congrats on your Clep success as well! Impressive. So I guess you have experienced the "Balloon Party" scenario in the REA guide. By normalization do you mean the balance of debits and credits in the fundamental accounting equation? |
