I was wondering if you get DSST results immediately after the exam like with CLEP exams? I thought you did, but after reading some posts I thought I read that people waited a month.

yes, you get the results of your test immediately after the exam if you take your exam at a computer based testing center. Some people are in a location where they take a paper version and that takes longer to get the results. Also, they might be referring to how long it takes the school to get your results--that can take awhile depending on how fast Prometric sends them the results.

I've thankfully never taken a paper DSST, so yes I do see my scores right away.
The DSST's seem to get to COSC just a little bit slower than the CLEP's, I don't know why. I did call the Dantes people to see if there was a way to rush them. You can call them up and have the tests sent "express" for 25 bucks. The cheap way to do this would be to take several tests and then you pay 25 bucks to have them sent quickly to your school. Otherwise, if you request it after every test, it costs you 25 bucks each time.
Usually there's no need to rush them to your school, but if you're trying to meet a deadline, like prerequisites to a class so you can enroll, it's super important!

I have only taken one paper based DSST and if I remember correctly it took about 4 weeks to get my score back. All the rest I've taken have been internet based.
