HELP please! which clep/dsst shoud i take to graduate from EC with an English degree? - ckthree - 02-22-2011
Please help me figure out my road to graduating. I'm trying to receive a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts with major in Literature In English to teach overseas. I am looking for the fastest way to get a bachelors from Excelsior. From my research, it looks like I should be taking
Clep: College comp (6 credits)
Clep: Humanities (6 credits)
Clep: College math (6 credits)
Clep: Natural sciences (6 credits)
Clep: Social sci and History (6 credits)
These 5 courses to complete my first 30 credits.
and from what I've researched if I take the GRE: Literature in English and receive a score of 80% or better that will grant me 30 credits for the major. (please help verify if this is true)
If this is true, I need to know what tests I need to take to fulfill the remaining 60 credits.
A list of the easiest clep or dsst test to complete the remaining 60 credits would be very much appreciated.
This seems to be the fastest way for me to earn a bachelors through Excelsior in order for me to travel and teach. If you have any input as to a faster way going about this, PLEASE HELP ME!
Thanks a bunch.
John

John,
Last time I checked, Excelsior was not accepting the CLEP English. I would strongly recommend you speak to them first before you take this exam.
Good luck! :-)

I have more bad news. If you were not enrolled at EC as of September 1, 2010, then they will not award any credit for the GRE. (The test in April 2011 is the last one being awarded credit for those who were enrolled by the deadline.)
Check Charter Oak and Empire State. They may still be awarding credit for GRE Subject Exams.
