DSST Technical Writing Am I ready? - jbraz45 - 05-08-2011
I'm getting ready to take this exam this week. I took all three Peterson exams and averaged a 58. I took the first one cold and got a 47. After a little studying I scored a 61 and 62. I think I can pass but I'm just looking for some feedback. Thanks

Have you read through the specific feedback forum if you're an IC member? If you have access, I would do that and brush up on any concepts that people discuss that you're unfamiliar with. Then, go take it. I wouldn't spend too much more time studying for it, maybe a day or two at most. It sounds like you're almost ready and it's not a tough test.
Also, make sure you go back and review the answers that you got wrong. If you understand where your mistakes are, you're probably good to go. I used this website to study in addition to the feedback people have given: Writing Guide: Engineering Technical Reports

Did you download the free Peterson's Official Guide to Mastering DSST Exams? It has a section on technical writing. I suggest you give that a quick review and go take the test.
If you are a native English speaker and you're still breathing, you should find the exam easy.

Took two tests this morning. First was DSST Western Europe since 1945-PASSED with a 58. Follwed up with Technical Writing and scored a 49. Not a great score but a pass. 6 credits in two hours felt pretty though.
