Greetings everyone, I have been lurking for a few months reading everyone's outstanding encouragement and help with others. So I turn to you for some guidance as well.

Enrolled at ERAU for BS in Prof Avi back in 08-09 but the economy got the best of me. But I am ready to get back in the game and need some advice on what degree to go after because my end goal is a MBA, MS (CS, IT, Security) or something traditional like a MS( Math, Physics or even EE/EET).

I prefer the non IT related degree's but that's a story for another time as its currently my bread and butter. I have some certifications that ACE should count towards credits and took peterson CLEP Information Systems and Computer Applications with zero study and got an 88%. Then took the dsst Intro and only got an 85%Confusedmilelol:

But I have looked at getting my AS or BS knocked out at Exclesior, COSC, TESC, ERAU, UMUC, AMU plus a few others then moving on to FSU's (CS), Penn State (IST), UF (Bus), or sticking to ERAU for the BS. Then MS from either ERAU, UF, Penn State, FSU. But I am afraid of having people seeing AS, BS, MS all from same college as that seems odd to me, any advice?

Another quick question, I have yet to see asked, can I just start taking more dsst's or do I need to be enrolled first? Do i start one of those schools credit banks?

sorry for the long post, thanks for the help in advance

I'm one who believes in diversity of degrees. Unless you can show that your school is very unique, I'd avoid academic incest and earn my degrees at different institutions.

Plenty of people get degrees from the same school and i think the incest problem is more of q concern for would be teachers than professionals.
If you goal is a tech MBA then studying for a BSBA CIS at tesc will prepare you for the coursework and should exempt you from the foundation classes required at most schools. I know a guy doing and MBA who is stuck in foundation courses right now because he didn't Clep out of them prior to enrolling. Management, marketing, macro, micro, accounting are all required undergrad courses in an MBA so take those cleps asap and build your business degree around them.
I chose tesc because it is a public school and it's bsba can be completed with no traditional courses or capstone.

Take all the dsst's you like, don't need to be enrolled anywhere, no need for credit banking. CLEP is good for 20 years, I believe DSST is same. Once you decide where your going just have CLEP or DSST send a transcript to your school.

All good feedback so far..
I plan on using all the tips i have read on this forum like using the IC, aleks, SL, etc to get as many basics and electives as I can.

And its good to know I can just start taking them asap.

will post up my progress as I go

thanks
