Replace BooBoo Grades with Equivalent CLEP for a Pass @ Excelsior - durandtheman - 08-03-2011 Just like the title, I'm just thinking out loud and wondering if there are others here who have done this. I have some C's on my transcript I would like to replace with a P to help my GPA? (minus a 2 and 1 less class does seem to help. This is something I will plan on before I'm ready to graduate (if I am not too excited about finally being done and accepting my degree) I would like to get an MBA in the future, and ending with a 3.1+ instead of a 2.8 would definitely look better. I haven't talked with my adviser yet, I'm just curious if there are others here who have done this successfully. From what I've read you can replace a grade with an equivalent of the course. I.E. Macroeconomics Course = Macroeconomics CLEP Just curious of others feedback regarding this. Replace BooBoo Grades with Equivalent CLEP for a Pass @ Excelsior - Merlin - 08-03-2011 I'm not sure about EC, but I do know that some B&M colleges do not allow you to use an exam based P/F credit (like CLEP/DSST) to replace a letter grade from a B&M class... particularly in schools where re-taking a class for a better grade ends up averaged with the first result rather than replaced. I imagine that EC would allow it since the big 3 all seem to be fairly progressive when it comes to exam credits, but you might need to check with an advisor to be safe. I need to check into the same thing for COSC, since I have a C from a B&M class that I'd like to replace with a DSST for a higher GPA.
Replace BooBoo Grades with Equivalent CLEP for a Pass @ Excelsior - JDM - 08-03-2011 Your graduate school will almost certainly request transcripts from all the schools you've attended and calculate their own version of your GPA. You may be able to get it off your EC transcript, but you won't be able to hide the lower grade from your grad school (at least if they're competitive enough to need transcripts). Replace BooBoo Grades with Equivalent CLEP for a Pass @ Excelsior - durandtheman - 08-03-2011 This makes sense, I completely forgot about needed to submit all transcripts from previous colleges as well as current when being accepted. Doing this would only make my graduating GPA better rather than my overall GPA. Might not hurt to still try, but like I said before, by the time I'm done with testing, I may just be too excited to take any more tests and accept my degree. Thanks again! |
