Excelsior business focus. - excelsiorstudent - 09-16-2011 I am getting close to finishing my degree. I am majoring in Sociology and am finishing up the last few classes I need for my major. I will have a focus in History also. However I am going to need to test for about 13 more credits. I keep playing around with maybe getting a second focus. At first I was considering Child Development as I have several phychology and education classes as well as work experience in this field. However as I am planning jobs I want to apply to several have wanted some course work in human resources or business. The jobs I would be applying to are county positions. So does anyone have a good suggestion on easy way to get a business focus? I don't have really any previous business courses but am also considering a graduate certificate in non profit management after I finish my Bacholer's, so taking some business exams may help with that as well. The only credits I think I can apply to this focus that I already have is a Computer course for 4 credits. I have to take statistics for my sociology major and am planning to do it with Aleks, was going to sign up for behavioral statistics. Does anyone know if I could just take regular statistics and apply it to my major and to this focus. Could I possibly take another Aleks course as well and apply it to a business focus? Excelsior business focus. - jackbanta - 09-16-2011 CLEP Principles of Management DSST Principles of Supervision DSST Human Resource Management DSST Organizational Behavior I took all of these in close proximity to each other and it was pretty easy. Certainly, one needs to study, but I found that studying for one prepared me a lot of the others. They overlap greatly and it's a wonderful way to get 12 business credits. If you have instantcert and you run through all the questions for each topic and then use the Specific Exam Feedback to fill in the blanks, you'll be ready! As for statistics, ALEKS will probably work for you, but check with your adviser. And unless you need math (or want to do it), ALEKS doesn't have much else to offer. Excelsior business focus. - bella2011 - 09-19-2011 will Excelsior give me credit for both???? Introduction to Statistics ** Business Statistics ** i have the Introduction to Statistics but would like to take the Business Statistics ** as an upper level credit for my business area focus. Excelsior business focus. - sevyn220 - 09-19-2011 I know Excelsior wouldn't allow me more than 1 stats course from Aleks in a technology degree program. But other degrees may have different rules, like I heard that they count business stats as upper level for liberal studies degrees but it's lower level for technology. here's a good thread with some business degree related info on aleks at excelsior: http://www.degreeforum.net/excelsior-thomas-edison-charter-oak-specific/9543-excelsior-aleks-business-statistics.html |
