I seem to feel that the enthusiasm has waned in the last month or so. Do not let go of your dreams. Keep pushing forward and keep studying.
There is no glory in second place Smile
You can do it. If you need help, just ask. If you need encouragement, just ask.
Ask online or PM me if you need help. Your degree awaits. Don't let anything hold you back.

I have to admit my enthusiasm was waning as I just spent the last 9 hours on an Aleks course and there were quite a few "WTF are you serious?" coming out of my office but with time and ALOT of coffee I got a 73 percent on my initial assessment in College Algebra!

I'm now 2 ECE's and 2 Classes away from my Bachelors Degree! Thanks for the post ryoder if nothing else you've re-energized me:-).

Cool! I only need to energize one person but all you other "slackers" out there, get goin!
Whatever you are studying, make a plan, a small checklist, and start working the plan. If your plan is to read for 20 minutes, change it to 2 hours.
I promise you that when you are done with your degree, you will look back on the time spent and it will be WELL worth it.

Not only is it time well spent, once your DONE you sorta forget about how rough it was and just feel deeply satisfied at the accomplishment. You can do it!

That's funny to see this post, I always waste a lot of time between tests because I don't want to schedule until I have a good grasp but I spend a lot of time procrastinating. I never seem to be able to really put my mind to studying until I have a test scheduled. So, this past Monday when I came home from the test center, I went straight to the computer and scheduled my next test before even cracking open a book. Now I HAVE to get on the ball and study. Smile AND I already put in a request at the library for books for the test after that one.
Pushing forward here.....

I've been reading and posting to the forum a bit less the last few weeks / month or so (other than a fascination with a Snuggie blanket, but I think that was more the cold/flu medicine I was on while getting over a sickness than a real need to share with the world). The reason is the opposite of a lack of enthusiasm, though. I've really buckled down the past month or so and found a good pace that is manageable and much better geared for absorbing the material I'm studying. When I first started the degree pursuit, I developed a plan that was a tiny bit too aggressive and bordered on the insane. After some adjustments and slowing down a bit - which is fine, I'm not racing a clock...I'm doing this for me, to finish something I started, not to change careers or make any dramatic changes - I'm much better able to focus and get interested in the material.

That, combined with the usual holiday obligations that tend to take up large portions of time, there's just not a lot of time to read or post. It's not disinterest or lack of enthusiasm, though! It's a good thing. Smile

Good guys! And I definitely don't mistake silence on the forum for lack of effort. When I was most dedicated to my studies, I spent the least amount of time on the forum.
I remember a certain college student that posted a whole lot on here and did little studying Smile

I only have four classes left that my college will alow me to test out of. It was five but I just passed mgmt info systems. I will be taking one per week until January. Microeconomics is next to get burned down (hopefully)

LOL! Don't remind me!

I wish I could say my absence is due to studying. I'm in a (self-induced) Penn Foster freeze. I signed up for five classes. (Yes, I know. Stupid.) They have to be done in three months. (Yeah, I know. Ryoder could do them in three minutes. I'm NOT Ryoder. Hmmmm, maybe that will be my new post name.) I'm scared about the writing, I'm scared about the testing, I'm just deer-in-the-headlight scared, and I'm not doing anything. I should have done the tests for everything but the Money and Banking, and ... the other hard one. It's all my own fault. I work better when I'm in charge of learning what I know I have to learn. Sigh. Enough whining. I'll go back to my frozed state.
