DSST Practice tests? - rmshr3 - 12-20-2011 Looks like I have to give one more test to wrap up - Enviornment and Humanity. I have started studying for it, but what would be really nice is to get my hands on some practice tests. So far, after a lot of searching, the only place I found these tests was on the Dod site. I am not in the military. I did not see any option to puchase them from Petersons.- only CLEP tests are listed for purchase. So, is it that Peterson only provides those tests for the military and not for the general public? DSST Practice tests? - clep3705 - 12-20-2011 Using peterson's practice tests as a search string, this page was found: CLEP Test Unfortunately, a search of the Peterson's site did not reveal anything about DSST tests. Navigating the Peterson's site also turned up nothing. Fyi, for CLEP preparation, the cost is $19.95 for 90 days of access for three practice tests. This is $19.95 for preparing for only one CLEP test. DSST Practice tests? - dew125 - 12-20-2011 Free-Clep-prep.com has instructions on how to access Peterson tests free. Free Clep Prep Just sign up and you're good to go. DSST Practice tests? - rmshr3 - 12-22-2011 Thanks for all info. I gave the test today and passed with a 64. I found the test easy but exhaustive covering a very wide area of topics. There were 2-3 qns that I had not encountered in the material I used to prep for the test, and quite a few tricky questions that required careful reading. Some of the questions were so 'granular' in its scope that there was no way anybody could have answered it unless they knew the material at a conceptual level. There were no questions on the names of the conferences, summits or all the hundreds of departmetns, laws, etc. There was the proverbial qn that everybody seems to get (what is mass transit). I used the Env. Science book by Richard Wright almost exclusively for the test. It is an awesome book!! It is one of the recommended text book in the Dantes fact sheet , and it was the only resource I used to prepare for the exam. I read the book end to end in a couple of days straight. If anybody is giving this exam, I would strongly suggest this book. It is all the material needed to pass the test with confidence and a comfortable margin. Also, I did use the free-clep practice test. It was very representative of the actual test. I would recommend this as well. A couple of questions seemed almost identical. All in all, this will go down as one of the easier (and interstring) tests. And unless TESC springs another surprise, I am done. If all goes well, I might just be able to post my 'all done' post in a few days. |
