Ok, so I started a quest for a tablet a few months ago. I thought I could get away with a cheap version, but they didn't look solid or do much. I ended up buying a new HP Touchpad. I wish I could have gotten one when they sold them off cheap, but I got this for less than $280. I couldn't find a used IPad for less than $400, so I ended took a chance on this. I know this runs WebOS, but I have heard a lot of people are loading the Android OS onto these, any thoughts from the IT pros here?

Does anyone know where the best place is to get apps for WebOS? I'm looking for a good calendar / organizer, bill tracker and the ability to use Kindle books and other ebooks. I thought it would also be a good study tool. I'm not much into games, but a few would be nice to pass the time on long flights. I just received this yesterday so I'm just trying to figure out my options and if this is the best choice. I'm not sure how much I will use this, but I would like it to be my electronic calendar / organizer to keep me on track and up to date with all my committee meetings, homework deadlines and work obligations. I have so much going that my old brain can't keep up. Any thoughts and suggestions from other tablet owners is greatly appreciated.

i have the HP tablet and I love it. Go to the ap store and you can download the Kindle Beta and angry birds and several other good free aps. Also, HP open-sourced webOS, so there is likely to be further development of the operating system. They also hinted they would be introducing another WebOS tablet next year.

I personally feel WebOS is better than android. My husband is a computer geek and he loves this tablet too. I have read several Kindle books on it, used it to play Angry birds, done a FEMA credit and we use it as a moving picture fram when on the charging stand. By the way Office Depot in Myrtle beach had the charging stand for $37 this weekend. We also got a nice Verizon leather sleeve at dealmonkey for $5 shipped.

i think you bought the right one. What size memory did you get.

Thanks for the info Linda! I bought the 32GB. I'm looking forward to working with it a little this weekend, so far I like what I have seen on it.
