Please HELP - math symbols - SpeedyAlchemist - 02-01-2012

This is getting VERY frustrating very quickly. The instacert flashcards use symbols instead of words. How am I supposed to know that A' means "the compliment of A"? Is there a key somewhere? And is this how it's going to be on the CLEP? With no key?

Not that I can't do the math; I just don't understand the question...

I don't know anything about the flashcards but I'm a math major and I've never seen " A' " used to mean the complement before. It's almost always a bar over the letter, a super-script "c" or something almost identical to a backslash in front of the A and after whatever other set it is the complement to. Sorry, that sucks is there's no key and they're using their own notation. Hopefully someone who's used the cards will chime in soon and help.
