MA space studies - ffdpsoldier - 05-10-2012

I decided to go to AMU for MA in space studies with a concentration of planetary scince and pay the extra money for their graduate classes. First class ill take starts in aug.
Intro to space studies
Planetary and solar system studies

Got one book already, and uses the same program I used as a freshman for astronomy. Which would make it a little easier.
The other is a cd
F anyone has. Experience in these classes or any info that can help. It would be appricated

Astronomy, I really hope. :p

(Seriously: Good luck! Smile)

Good luck! I have heard good things about this program and UND's as well- it's certainly an exciting area of study.

Very cool field of study...I'm not that smart.

MA space studies - ffdpsoldier - 05-10-2012

I'm not strong in math, however since it is online, and the equations are step by step it is some what easy.
and im sure there are "calculators out there where you plug in numbers"
it seems like basic algebra except for large numbers millions, billions and trillions figures.
hopefully i can get through them quick, they are 8 week classes, so aug-sep than oct-nov
so by december i should have about 12 credits of 36 done. wish I could do more

has anyone taken AMU grad classes full time, i was told 2 should be the limit at what someone should take but im thinking maybe 3 what are your opinions?
plus ill be taking 2 (3) credit grad classes at Western Michigan University
ADA family and addiction
HOL Intro To Holistic Health
and Last term of rotc

9 semester credits (assuming a 16 week semester) is a full-time grad school load, and since you are new to the Space Studies program, you definitely should not take more than one course since, IIRC, AMU operates on 8 week semesters.

Orbital mechanics will probably require calculus.

MA space studies - ffdpsoldier - 05-11-2012

The orbital class says it only requires college algebra, I'm sure it won't be to hard. I jus have to have a note book full of all the equations, I can always get the class book before it starts to get a jump on things.
