question to amu/apu graduates - ffdpsoldier - 05-20-2012

I would like to know if your degree helped you get a job in your desired field?
Because I know they have weird degrees like EOD (which I'm sure doesn't make qualified to defuse bombs) military studies, military history, space studies, emergancy management, etc. I know the school is acredited but like EOD I don't think would make someone get a job with a bomb squad.

Was your degree at amu/apu worth more than the paper it was printed on?
I just don't want to waist time on a piece of paper when I might like to use it one day.

Can I ask what it is you want to do?
Your sig says you have a BS, and AMU only offers things like EOD as an Associate or Undergrad cert.
A masters in management or business admin will go a really long ways in practically every job.

If you are staying in the government sector, it doesn't matter where you get your degree as long as its accredited. Adult oriented schools focus mainly on credentialing working professionals who just need the sheep-skin to fill a box. These schools actually have a bad rep in placing students in a career that they were not already in. One of them (I think it may have been UoP, can't remember), caught some heat because they were claiming something like a 90% placement rate, but were counting students who were already working in that field and stayed at their job.

If you got the time and money, get into a good program that has proven placement in your desired field and steer clear of the AMU/APU type schools.
