CLEP scores not transmitting - beargins - 06-01-2012 Hey has anyone ever had a problem with retrieving a CLEP score that did not transmit? I took intro to sociology back in Jan, and just now figured out that it had not transferred. I called the college board and they have no record of the exam. I took the exam at a local Devry University, however they are closed right now. I scored in the 60s so I'm sure it was a pass, I'm just hoping I won't have to retake the exam. I'm wondering if the testing console at the university keeps logs of the tests and if so, I hope they can at least get the test ID and transmit the data! P.S I do not have the printout that you receive after completing the exam. Out of 9 CLEPS I've only encountered this problem with one test ![]() CLEP scores not transmitting - marianne202 - 06-01-2012 When I had a test take longer than normal to post I was told that the individual test centers don't keep a record of exam scores. They only know the date, time and exam you take. From what I learned from my test center proctor, the exams are actually done on the DSST / CLEP server so they have no way to access the exam or scores or your personal info you enter. My proctor actually had me print a copy of the exam score results for her when I printed mine, so she personally kept a record for those that tested at that specific center, but no other test center ever did that. If you had your score sheet or if it was shortly after the exam you may have had a better chance of getting CLEP to find your info or give you credit. I'm sorry this happened, but I guess this is why it is important for all of us to keep our receipt and keep tabs on our grades posting in a prompt manner. I was afraid that would be the case so I began studying to take it again in the next week. Although its been 6 months, the material is not too foreign because I enjoyed it. Hopefully I'll knock it out again :-). CLEP scores not transmitting - cooperalex2004 - 06-01-2012 Hopefully they never charged you for the exam the first time. For CLEP exams they are sent at a later time to the Collegeboard system so make sure to get the score report every time. For DSST exams they are available online so you can check if it went through right after you finished or at home using your username and password: https://ibt.prometric.com/dsst As marianne said, paperwork is the key to success. Don't leave without a CLEP score report or a double-check on the DSST site. I would say if you don't see the transcript as received by any school you attend within a month you should start following up on it (at TESC that would be "received" but not yet on the evaluation or transcript). To address one of the statements in your post talking about the scoring, CLEP exams are all 50 to pass so you did pass the first time. CLEP scores not transmitting - gmagerr - 06-02-2012 Is there a url to check for the cleps? I passed principles of marketing, the proctor didn't know how to transfer the credits to TESC. i'd like to actually see that I passed posted somewhere Thanks CLEP scores not transmitting - BGSU_Alum_86 - 06-04-2012 There is no URL to check your CLEP scores or anything like that. CLEP and DSST are completely different in their testing platforms. For CLEP exams, the test center should have their system set up to automatically print the candidate's results at completion of the exam. This is not an option that the candidate controls from their testing computer. If the results do not automatically print, the proctor is always able to manually tell the system to print the results. This option is only available within 30 days of your test being completed. The proctor is also in charge of transmitting the results to CLEP -- supposed to be done at the end of the testing day. At that point, everything is in CLEP's hands. The test centers do not send out the transcripts, only transmit the results to CLEP. Official transcripts for these testing programs must originate from the testing program itself, not the test center. If you as the candidate do not receive a print-out of your score, do not leave the test center until they can provide you with one. If the proctor doesn't know how to do this, they should contact CLEP (and complete their training again!). This is your proof that you took the exam -- has the date and the name of the exam, your score compared to the ACE recommended passing score, and also lists the designated institution you selected. You may want to consider contacting CLEP's office: Quote:College-Level Examination Program (CLEP)While they can not provide you with scores or even pass/fail information over the phone, they should be able to verify that your test is on file. CLEP scores not transmitting - Tedium - 06-05-2012 Wow, that would make me cry I think. I always kept the printout, not for any particular reason, but I guess I definitely have one now. I think your best bet is contacting College Board like others have suggested. Let us know if that works in case anyone else runs into that problem in the future. CLEP scores not transmitting - beargins - 06-05-2012 I contacted CLEP and opened a ticket with them so they are investigating and will get back to me within the next 10 days. In the meantime I'm going to go ahead and schedule a retake for this week or early next week since its still been 6 months since I last took the exam. FYI to folks in the future, keep your exam papers! |
