Is this typical that TESC doesn't even tell you the score you got? They sent a paper in the mail that just said "no credit", that's it, so I assume it was a fail. Are there any alternative exams for these credits? What are the best books to study for this one?

Sorry to hear about that I'm unsure if that is what they normally do. Can you take it again or do you have to wait a while?

I'm taking Penn Fosters "BUS 425 Strategic Business Management" ( Ace # ICS-0218) to fill that requirement. It is self-paced ,but there are some webinars / class participation you will have to do. If you are interested you need to contact them by phone. Its the Workforce development department. 1-800-238-9554 I think its around $210 and they will mail you book.
Book possibly might be back-ordered, I'm searching isbns now to see if I can find an alternative. I'll let ya know if I find one.

I can say it may take 5-15 days to get your books, so if you are in a rush.... ,but I don't think there are many other options.

TECEPs are either Pass or Fail so "no credit" is a fail. Compared to DSST and CLEPs, it was not an easy exam. I agree with mrhtoad76, seems quite a few DF members are now taking the Penn Foster course. In the interest of time you may want to give it a try.

Also, both TESC and Excelsior have the course. Or, you could wait three months (it may even be two) and retake the TECEP. The book noted on the TECEP fact sheet, if memory serves was crafting and executing strategies.

Good luck.

That is a great book. Did you read the whole book cover to cover? If not, then you should probably be able to read it and pass the test next time.
Also study http://www.quickmba.com's strategic management section.

As the other people have said, TESC gives a CR or NC for your score (similarly to how other schools may use P and F). No credit means you got less than 60% (the passing score for that exam). If you are looking for a book for the TECEP, it is listed on the study guide they provide:
