Any car people on the board? - Katzepatra - 03-11-2013

I'm getting a bit impatient with my car which of course had to go in the shop before today (first CLEP test).

I have a 99 integra ls 5 speed and just had the engine light come on and throw the codes that I was misfiring all cylinders. For the record, its not tuned, as stock as I can make it now (its lowered) so I know it wouldn't be from some shoty attempt to make it a ricer. I did have an issue 2 years ago where I hit a cut out in the road (pa sucks for road work) and ended up messing up the grounds. Supposedly that is fixed but it hasn't been the same car since.

My mechanic is usually really good about things but the car has been in since Saturday and they still can't find the misfire. I had a code about a month ago for a single misfire - they changed my spark plugs and the code went away. I have no loss in power, no problem accelerating, nothing feels any different. One of the mechanics said that he had it once with a civic he rebuilt and it was the distributor. Apparently mine is fine?...

I figured hondas are fairly common and perhaps someone on here may have seen this before in the same car or a civic.

I am a car person and my roommate back in the day had an Integra however I don't know about common Integra spark issues.
You should really get on the Honda Tech forum. I think that is what it was called back then.
Does it have a rough idle?
Misfiring on all cylinders could be anything really but you have to know which components are universal to all cylinders. The old Camaros from 1993-1997 used to have an Optispark distributor that sat right by the water pump and suffered from water intrusion. Knowledge like that will be on the Honda forum.

Honda Accord Forum - Honda Accord Enthusiast Forums - Powered by vBulletin is where I get a lot of good information. I bought a 1996 Honda Accord LX for $700 and put 85 miles on it every day. Do you still have problems with your car?
