PF's Strategic Management - bigticket - 04-08-2013 Hello Guys, I am pulling the trigger on PF's Strategic Management today. Could you guys please post your experiences. Do we have to attend all the Webinars & Discussion, or can we just skip those? How is the final exam like (Subjective / Objective)? Cheers, BT PF's Strategic Management - MN456 - 04-08-2013 You do have to attend the webinars. there are three of them. Theyre very easy and laid-back though. At least in my experience. The first one was just a "hi welcome to the course" type of thing. all over text chat. The second one I had to discuss a topic of my choosing that related to the course with the instructor. The third was just a Q&A session. The discussions require a little bit more effort. But you dont actually get a percentage or grade letter, so as long as you really put even a tiny amount of thought into your posts you will get a PASS. The exams are not terrible difficult, but if you slack off dont expect to breeze through the exam. So with a little bit of studying and searching through the book, you arent looking at a difficult course. PF's Strategic Management - bigticket - 04-08-2013 Thanks MN456. That helps. Is the Final exam multi choice exam like CLEP? PF's Strategic Management - MN456 - 04-08-2013 Theres a final "project" which is more like a report/essay. They offer a bunch of questions about a case study which can be found in the book. Not multiple choice. I think they requested a paragraph for each answer. The rest of the exams are multiple choice though. PF's Strategic Management - armyb77 - 04-08-2013 MN456, Can you do the Webinars any time, or are they set to a schedule? I haven't decided if i'm going to take this or just do the TECEP. PF's Strategic Management - MN456 - 04-08-2013 When i took the course a couple months ago, the webinars were once a week at 6 pm pacific time. PF's Strategic Management - Max Droid - 04-08-2013 Do any of the exams require proctoring? and... How long did it take you to complete the course? Thanks in advance! PF's Strategic Management - MN456 - 04-09-2013 They did not require proctoring when I took the course It took me about a month. You have to take at least three weeks due to the webinars only being once a week. But truthfully the course work could take as little as two weeks if you study really well. I just happened to be busy as heck at the time. PF's Strategic Management - walternc3 - 04-13-2013 This course was super easy. I originally planned to take this as a TECEP but I chickened out and decided to do it through Penn Foster. The others on this thread covered about everything. All I can add is that I just went through the index to find answers for the tests and stopped reading the chapters after the first exam (although I had read the book previously). The final is just a bunch of questions (about 20 or so) that you have to write an answer to. I did a half-assed job on the final and got 100% so the instructor isn't out for your blood. I've heard that some penn foster courses are difficult but the strategic mgmt, finance and consumer behavior courses there weren't challenging at all and I completed them within a few days each. The again I have a business background so your results may vary. PF's Strategic Management - bigticket - 04-19-2013 walternc3, Did you take the Webinars? |
