Passed TECEP's Strategic Mngmt and Advertising! - seanmathews - 05-03-2013
I was thrilled to see on my Eval that both my TECEP's were labeled CR (Credit Received). I spend 1 1/2 weeks on strategic management and 1 week on advertising. I know I nailed the Advertising one and the Strategic Management I know was a close call. But I am soooo thrilled to have those done and out of my way.
As far as feedback, the specific feedback thread has a few pointers with these but luckily, the whole test is based on the required/suggested textbook.
Good luck to those who need to tackle these in the future!

How much was the Advertising TECEP?

All TECEPs are about 90, (either 99 or 90, can't fully remember at the moment)
Plus whatever the testing proctor may charge. I payed $20 for a 2-hr proctor exam session.

But you pay the test fee right when you register for the test, the proctor fee will be once you're ready to take it whether or not they wanna charge you.

really? interesting how was the "Advertising" test, Is it possible to take this exam cold if you read a few Marketing books in the past?

Definitely not.. I wouldn't recommend taking any TECEP "cold". Although there might be one or two questions you know based on prior knowledge.. but these tests are strictly taken off the required text.. every test answer is in the book, some are even word for word answers you'll find in the book.
Book is a must.

I'm worried about the Advertising TECEP only because it's 100 questions pulled from the text of 19 different chapters! If it was open book I don't think it would be an issue, but i'm not sure if i'm going to focus on the right stuff or not. Can you provide me with some study tips on the exam? Also, can you tell me how long it took from when you took the exam till they posted the credit? I'm signed up for it in June, but I might chicken out if I can find another Marketing course from PennFoster that will fulfill the area.
