Posting full-sized pictures? - mrs.b - 05-15-2013 How is it done? I've tried the "insert image" link, but it seems to shrink them down to thumbnail clickables. Share your techie secrets... Posting full-sized pictures? - Jonathan Whatley - 05-15-2013 [img][/img] and in the space between the img tags goes the url of the image hosted elsewhere on the web. This has to be the url of the underlying image itself; it can't be the url of a page that contains the image. I found my puppy at http://cdn.memegenerator.net/instances/400x/23511504.jpg If you do a Google Image search for 'stop fighting meme puppy', you should see it. Click on the image and click on "View original image" (rather than "Visit page"), and that should send you directly to that underlying url. There should be nothing there but the image, and the URL will likely end in .jpg, .gif, .png, or some extension indicating an image file. Posting full-sized pictures? - mrs.b - 05-15-2013 Oh. Oh! I thought they had to be uploaded to DF first, not direct linked. This? edited...no, not that. I did the [img]link[/img] but it just hyperlinked the URL. Why is this defeating me? (Don't answer that. )

On a computer, right-click the image; on a tablet, press and hold the image—an option to do that should come up. To make sure you have what you need, you can paste what you just copied into a separate web tab and click enter—it should bring up just the picture alone (like Jonathan's pasted link did). So take that and put it in between the [IMG][/IMG] tags

Posting full-sized pictures? - cookderosa - 07-15-2013 since our members are feeling especially generous and kind, can someone explain to me (in the simplest language possible) how I get a picture to have a url? So, let's say I take a really cute pic of my cat, and want to post it here (don't worry- i won't) I can't do that because it's in my computer as a file, not on a web page. So, since I don't have a website, is there some other way? Is that what the photo sites are for? Sorry, I'm old. I only JUST stopped saying "rewind" and "fast forward."

This is a picture of my very cute cat Chili Dog and my oldest son that I always talk about hereOkay, here's Jennifer's picture: ![]() The trick is to get the URL of the picture itself, not just the URL of the web page the picture is located at (which is actually what Jennifer pasted when she tried to post this pic earlier) The URL of the picture (the one you want) should end in ".jpg," ".jpeg," ".png," or ".gif." The URL you'd want for this picture, Jennifer, is http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3756/9301895118_7e18ec9673.jpg. (I had to hunt around for it because I don't use Flickr, but it was under a "Grab the HTML/BBCode" tab. Click the little box with an arrow coming out of it that you'll find at the bottom of the picture to find that.) Paste that inside the [img][/img] tags, and you're good to go!
