If you're familiar with the flashcard format of InstantCert, I treated the chapter practice quizzes much like IC flashcards, then used the textbook to fill in and put flesh on the snippets of information taken from the questions. That said, HR is part of my job and much of the material in the course seemed familiar so I got a bit arrogant, thinking it would be cake. It wasn't. I did about two passes through the quizzes and a quick skim of the text. I passed, but I walked out of the proctor convinced I'd failed and about fell over when I learned otherwise a few weeks later. I will say that in the course of my half-hearted study for this exam, I plowed through the first half of the book and when it was all familiar, I only barely skimmed the second half of the text. That was a mistake. Do not skimp on chapters. I thank God and extensive job training for my pass, because I nearly fumbled this one.

If I had it to do again, I'd do this:
1) Go through all the chapter practice quizzes multiple times before opening the book and make a study guide based on the questions and answers. Make sure you do go through them multiple times because you'll get different questions every time you take it. Some of the questions from the quizzes were on the exam, if not verbatim, then only slightly reworded.
2) After that, read the book. It is an easy read and well worth the money and time. It's the only text in my 120 credit collection that I still use outside of the course for work.

Despite my near-oops due to arrogance for this one due to initial familiarity with the material, the e-Pack format was my favorite offered by TESC. I just wish it were priced more competitively because it does open up quite a bit more choice in course selection. GoodYellowDogs, the cost is the same as an online or guided study course, priced per-credit. It was only a reasonable choice for me on Comprehensive Tuition. If not for that, I think I'd be hard-pressed to pay that.
