I'm done!!! - dartheminence - 10-03-2013

I just completed my degree with Charter Oak State College. I will obtaining my BS in General Studies with a Concentration in Psychology this December 31st. I want to thank everyone on this forum for helping me. I've obtained many free certificates, learned about FEMA courses, and tested out of a total of 30 classes thus far!

I've been a lurker for several years and read more than I post here, but I definitely wanted to take time out of my day to thank each and every one of you. Without your tips and advice, I would have never finished my degree.

What's next? Masters programs, perhaps some travel abroad, and I hope to add more to the discussion here!

Thanks again everyone. I'd been working on a degree for 6 years and was about to give up before I made the attempt to enroll at Charter Oak and get my first bachelors degree.

I am in the second part of my capstone now, and I should be graduating on Dec 31 with you!

Congrats fellow peer and schoolmate! Then you know exactly how amazing that feels! Are you going to the ceremony? I'm not.

Thank you, Jennifer! That means so much to me! What's even better about everything is I had to switch majors to graduate for COSC, but some of my CLEPS and courses actually ended up satisfying requirements for the degree I was working on for 6 years. I'll be able to get another bachelors degree in English in one semester if I choose to go back. It's amazing what DegreeForum has taught me and done for me! I will definitely keep everyone posted and look forward to reading everyone else's success stories!

WOOO HOOO!!! Another fellow COSC alum on the board. Great job!!

I highly recommend the travel abroad part of your post-degree plans. My experience living/working out of US are what really helped my career once I had the degree to back up the experience. There are plenty of programs out there for teaching. Now that you have a degree, you can teach English in almost any country you'd like.. just take a year off and do it!
