I read this article today about the tax climate in France, with young professionals apparently fleeing for England and other places: Down and out: the French flee a nation in despair - Telegraph
What caught my interest, as far as this forum is concerned, was this part (bolding mine):

I'm curious if anyone knows about this and if this opens up some possibilities for online courses at good French universities? Perhaps at the undergraduate or graduate level? Just seeing what might be new and available out there.

That's a good question and an interesting prospect. I'd be surprised if you could finish an entire degree that way, but I bet you could find a few really interesting classes if you dig. Looks like the article had a business focus from what I saw. If that's your cup of tea then you might be in luck.

It looks like they just got started this year so I doubt there's much for international students yet: French universities to offer 20% of courses online... in 5 years
Oh well. It was just a thought.

Hi Irish John,
I take it you have been to France? I would move there in a heartbeat, but alas you need to be fluent in French. That's a fair requirement. Ah, but to learn from a French school...might be nice!

Sadly, no. I also do not speak a lick of French, mon Dieu! I just like seeing the changes to higher education that have sprouted up over the past few years and of course am always interested in taking courses through a well-known school even if I personally don't need the credits! IC has made online learning quite addictive... hilarious

Totally addictive! I got my husband (who is from England) into it now too! He was a music major, moved to the States at 19 to become a rock star. Needless to say, when that didn't work out, he got a job at a bank. He's good at counting so that works
LOL! He's an Assistant Branch Manager, but needs the BA or BS to move up. He's smart, and dedicated, and has learned from watching me study how easy and accessible online learning is compared to driving your car and fighting for a parking spot...then sitting and listening to a lecture in an uncomfortable seat for 2-3 hours twice a week. I LOVE this forum. It's saved me so much time and money and helped me so much in more ways than one. Rock on Irish John, if you ever take a class with the French school and it's affordable and interesting, let me know! If I am done with school, I might join you, because online learning IS addictive and so much fun!
