I passed my first CLEP exam today. I took the Analyzing and Interpreting Literature exam and got a 61! Thanks to everyone who gave me advice and suggestions. What are some of the other CLEP exams that are easy to pass. I would like to take more exams were 6 hours because it's most cost effective. I still have 13 hours of general electives to knock out, and CLEP or Dante's is how I plan on doing it. :coolgleam:hilarious

The following sequence is great because overlap of the material limits study time.
US History I (3 cr) & II (3 cr) -> American Government (3 cr) -> Sociology (3 cr) -> History & Social Science General (6 cr)

I would say it was a little harder than I expected. My test seemed to be very heavy with writing from other periods, I only had one or two passages that I would consider being modern. That said, I was relieved to see that I passed. I was hoping for a score closer to 70, but 61 doesn't seem to be too bad. I want to take more testing through either Dante's or Clep, I have 13 hours I need to obtain, and this seems like a great way to do it. I would prefer taking tests that have a high rate of success, does anyone have some ideas for me?

Congratulations on the pass! As far as taking other tests - what are your strengths and interests? Math? History? Sciences? Social Sciences?
I am a business major, but I love history, so I started out taking lots of history courses.

Topdog is right - your strengths/interests/life experience are going to be the biggest determiners of how easy or hard a particular test is for you. A&I Literature was unquestionably my easiest test, but I had a very difficult time with College Mathematics, which many others have found relatively easy.

WELL DONE
That was a good pick for the first CLEP. Go with the tests that you think you are interested in and think you will do well with. If you are not sure which tests to take; go to Free CLEP prep .com website and take one of the tests you are considering. If you are considering 2 tests...let's say you think you want to take US history I (I thought it was easy) but maybe Introduction to Sociology (I thought that was easy and I had to do it on paper and write an essay back when I took it)...take them both (they are free). Whichever test you do better on/feel more comfortable is a pretty decent indicator of what test you should be abel to take and pass quickly (if time is one of your issues). Also, want to know which tests have a high success rate? You can look at the thread on here where people wrote about which tests they scored a 60 or above using nothing but Instant Cert. Some people also use the military pass rates. There is a thread on this site about how to find that. I personally just take the tests I need for my degree and the ones I feel most comfortable with first (I take the practice tests to back up my decision). To find those other links, use the little white search box on the top of this page to type in your keyword and that will give you all the threads to use as a tool to help answer your questions.
