NPV, IRR on Principles of Accounting? - mstcrow5429 - 06-21-2007

I noticed on Part 3 of the Managerial Component of IC, it touches upon NPV and IRR. It does not go into any detail on how to perform these functions. I've noticed NPV and IRR are complicated enough that these are standard functions on financial calculators. One isn't allowed to use a financial calculator (or any other, I think) on the Principles of Accounting exam. What I'd like to know is am I going to be required to do NPV and IRR on paper?

There were no questions requiring the calculation of net present value or the internal rate of return on the version that I took.

Good luck!

Good luck!

Nor on my version.

Mstcrow,

The reason they don't allow a calculator on the Accounting exam is that you really don't NEED one. If you somehow find yourself doing complex calculations for any question.....skip it and move on. Your time would be better spent answering numerous easier questions than one hard one. Okay?

Best of luck,
