Please Help! Need Fast Credits - saiga - 08-12-2014 Okay, I finally got my TESC Academic Evaluation for my BSBA General Management. I am so close! Everything lines up as I intended with the exception of my BYU Japanese Exam. Which they did not accept. This basically means that I am 8 credits shy of my 120. I need 2 general electives and 6 free electives. I could take the NYU Language Exam but on the site they say that it could take as many a 8 weeks to get the results back. I really want to have everything in order for the December graduation. I don't want to put all my eggs in one basket with this NYU test so I need some other options. I am looking especially at Straighterline courses because those have been very fast for me in the past. So what are some fast Straighterline or other courses I can take? Here are the SL courses I've already taken: Accounting II Managerial Accounting Financial Accounting Business Communication Here is my Academic Evaluation. I also have Penn Foster Strategic management and Business & Technical Writing course transcripts on the way, so those are not included. ENC-101 (Completed) 2.. They will also fit in either gen ed or free electives. For the free electives there are some self paced free options. ACE NFA courses, TEEX cyber security, kaplan pla course Please Help! Need Fast Credits - cookderosa - 08-12-2014 I don't know much about this, but look into American Council on Teaching Foreign Language Exam. The credit is ACE, so accepted by TESC. I believe you conduct the exam/interview over the phone and there is some element of writing. Certified Proficiency Testing Program & ACTFL Testing Office | American Council on The Teaching of Foreign Languages and Language Testing - Language Testing International Just double check that what you test is the same one that is awarded credit via ACE. Need Fast Credits - happydayruth - 08-12-2014 I've done all three TEEX cybersecurity courses, which are 2 credits each. They are a little tedious, but they're free and I think they will work as free electives. Please Help! Need Fast Credits - michaelfrye1970 - 08-13-2014 I'm gonna agree with defscarlett. The CLEP Analyzing and interpreting literature (6 cr) and DSST Introduction to Computing (3) are probably your quickest route, with all the other tests you have taken its suprising you didn't take these already. I thought I wasn't going to need any more credits with my BYU exam. Unfortunately that didn't work out. That CLEP does sound like the kind of one you can pretty much just walk in cold and manage a pass. I might go with that. Does TESC require the optional essay? As for the DSST, I was concerned that it would duplicate with my CGS1100 Intro Micro computers so I didn't take it. Please Help! Give a call to advising to find out if COS101 duplicates with CIS110 Intro to Micro. I don't think they do because they are from two different areas of study, computer science and computer information systems. If approved, have them add both exams to your eval as planned credit. Then go sit both exams. A&I Lit does not require an essay, it is MC. I agree you can take them cold (no study) on the same day and be done with it. If for some strange reason COS101 is considered duplicating credit, then use the TEEX free online courses for 2CR. I would use the following track: Cybersecurity for Everyone - Non-Technical (CIS-299) - 2CR AWR-175-W Information Security for Everyone AWR-174-W Cyber Ethics AWR-168-W Cyber Law and White Collar Crime Another 6CR Option - CLEP MAT-102/103 College Mathematics; with your math history you would more than likely be able to sit this exam cold as well. Good luck, it's great to be so close to the finish line! Please Help! Need Fast Credits - defscarlett - 08-13-2014 DSST Intro to Computing transfers in as COS 101, you shouldn't have any issue. Please Help! Need Fast Credits - rebel100 - 08-13-2014 I will only add that the DSST Technical Writing was rediculously easy (at least to me), I would take a look at that if the computing exam doesn't fit the bill. and hearty 2nd to the CLEp A&I Literature...widely regarded as the easiest CLEP. Good Luck, Please Help! Need Fast Credits - saiga - 08-15-2014 I took the Analyzing and Interpreting Literature CLEP today. Walked in totally cold and got a 72. I'd say most native English speakers could manage a pass. I'm going to take the DSST next week sometime and I will be DONE. Finally. It is such a nervous relief to see all my credits added up on my evaluation. I am so grateful I found this forum and was able to save myself a ton of time, effort, and money. |
