Federal financial aid for alternative sources of credit!!! - sanantone - 01-21-2015 After I did find out that CSU Global was, indeed, chosen as an experimental site by the Department of Education for offering federal financial aid for CBEs and PLAs, I found out that there are a total of 40 experimental sites. I could only find a list of 11 of the schools who are apart of the Competency-Based Education Network, and Charter Oak State College is one of them!!! Oh, and UptonSinclair's favorite community college system, KCTCS, is on the list. Now, if only students could get financial aid for CLEP, DSST, Uexcel, TECEP, Straighterline, Saylor, etc. Offering financial aid for Uexcels and TECEPs would seem like the next logical step. What I pay for TECEPs already counts as tuition on the 1098-T form for tax purposes. I don't know when this is going to happen. Currently, they only have a few challenge exams in statistics and child development that are offered onsite. I don't know if they're preparing more stuff for the future. |
