Straighterline Business Communications for Upper Level Liberal Studies? - CollegeKid - 02-10-2015
Has anyone been able to use the Straighterline Business Communications course for the upper level requirements of the TESC Liberal Studies "Area of Study"?
I seem to remember that no business courses are allowed as part of the Liberal Studies electives... that they don't fall into the three areas of social sciences, humanities, and natural science/math.
I would think that the SL Business Communications would be received as a business course. Anyone know?

I just finished this Straighterline course for this exact reason. I emailed TESC and they told me it would fit in as UL credit under COM-300. Finished this class in 3 days. Just waiting for my written draft assignments to be graded so I can make some quick tweaks and submit them. You need the book.
Wondering if I should enroll in anything else now that I have 26 days remaining lol...Don't want them to go to waste, but man I want a break lol!

Oh that's great news! It's really hard to find good options for the upper level Liberal Studies!
I don't know your degree or what credits you need, but if you have some time on SL and want some easy credits, I've heard on this forum that Medical Terminology is an easy one. Also Anthropology isn't hard and is great for those Personal and Social Responsibility credits.

I just spent a lot of time and focus the past 3 days doing the work lol. For business communications I found the right amount of time I needed to skim the chapters in order to do well in the quizzes, and the written assignments can be time consuming, but I was able to get them done. Also knew some things about it from life experience. And I've taken A&P I with lab, A&P II with lab, microbiology, and a year in RN school, so I just blew through the tests for medical terminology without studying.

Great job! Then my next recommendations would be SL Business Ethics or SL Principles of Management. (SL Organizational Behavior was hard, imo)
