2015 it salary guide - Prloko - 04-09-2015 Hey DF Forum members. I thought I'd share a really informative IT Salary guide I found on the internet. It was developed by Robert Half, a staffing firm. What I like about it is that it is more specific than other products I've seen out there or anything from the BLS. IT Salary Guide | Robert Half Technology It's totally free with no sign up required, just click the red button to download. If you have trouble downloading the PDF, try a different web-browser. I had trouble trying to use FireFox, and instead used another and it worked. The link also has an IT salary calculator that you can play with. I thought this would be really great information for our folks in IT or folks looking to get into IT. Enjoy, and share your thoughts. 2015 it salary guide - KittenMittens - 04-09-2015 Prloko Wrote:Hey DF Forum members. I thought I'd share a really informative IT Salary guide I found on the internet. Tech as a whole is booming and I don't think it's going away like with the Dotcom bubble. It's a great place to be right now - better than most fields in medicine, law, or business for certain reasons in terms of return on investment. We're in a bit of a bubble right now, but more so in software development/tech startups I think. But on the commercial side at least things are looking pretty good. 2015 it salary guide - UptonSinclair - 04-09-2015 We have a strange IT market here in Colorado Springs. Many of the jobs require a security clearance and certifications while offering salary in the $40k range. 2015 it salary guide - movtarget - 04-10-2015 I've had the opportunity in my career (as an IT hiring manager) to compare the Robert Half guide to a pair of databases used by two different companies' HR departments, and the Robert Half guide was 5-10% higher than the HR databases. This is important, so that you are using realistic guidance when negotiating the salary with a potential employer. Recall that Robert Half is typically compensated with a significant percentage of the first year's salary for their recruiting efforts, so it is in their best interest to err on the high side. I believe they are statistically within the margin of error, so not unethical. Edited to correct the proper plural possessive for company (companies') - wanted to get my first post right. 2015 it salary guide - LaterBloomer - 04-10-2015 Welcome, Movtarget. You've started off with a bang. The information you've provided is very helpful. 2015 it salary guide - cookderosa - 04-10-2015 awesome! I shared. ![]() 2015 it salary guide - ajs1976 - 04-10-2015 UptonSinclair Wrote:We have a strange IT market here in Colorado Springs. The salary range for an experienced System Engineer can go from $55k to over $120k. Normally the bigger companies offer the higher salaries, but even some of them low ball people. 2015 it salary guide - KittenMittens - 04-10-2015 best places to be for tech are silicon valley, seattle, LA, and maybe Atlanta/DC/North Carolina. NYC if you're doing something in finance-related. 2015 it salary guide - mednat - 04-10-2015 ajs1976 Wrote:Pittsburgh market is a little strange. The actual tasks for positions like System Engineer vary significantly from company to company. Some companies have this as a senior technical position, some it's a glorified helpdesk role. 2015 it salary guide - mednat - 04-10-2015 UptonSinclair Wrote:We have a strange IT market here in Colorado Springs. If you have significant security clearance, and a unique technical ability, I would suggest expanding your search to the Virginia area. Most of the jobs i've seen there are priced 2 to 3*(market rate of job without clearance). This is a huge enhancer for tech positions (particularly Cisco and/or voice related). |
