Am I ready for the College Algebra CLEP??? - DixieGirl - 08-06-2007

I just finished Algebra II in the spring. I took my first REA test recently and scored a 50%, I reviewed my answers and one of three things that was giving me a lot of trouble. Then I took another test and scored a 60%. The one thing that I am having the most trouble with is logarithms. On the REA test there has been about seven logarithms questions per test and I guess I am scared to take the actual CLEP because I am afraid there will be a bunch of those questions that I don't know. Do y'all think that I am ready for the test?Sad

Thanks,
DixieGirl

Remember that logarithms are just another way of writing exponents. I passed College Algebra, but I do not remember many logarithm questions, maybe 2 or 3. Just grab a textbook and study logs for few days then take the test.

One more piece of advice that has worked for me. I never study the day of the test. I see so many people cramming right before the test and I think that kind of stress is bad when getting ready to take an exam. Study and then get a good night's sleep and go pass the exam. I am sure you will do fine.

I wouldn't be concerned about the log piece. I struggled with them as well and ended up just writing them off. I figured I'd end up with 2-3 log questions on the test. As log as I was comfortable with the other items I could sacrifice those questions. Accepting that approach did wonders for my stress level! I just took the test this past summer and scored a 67.
