DSST login problem - clep3705 - 07-28-2015 Someone showed me a DSST login problem. A password reset was attempted, but it won't accept any of the proposed new passwords. It says a special character must be entered. It says this even when special characters are entered. The person with the problem called DSST and was told to contact IT support by email. Emails have been sent. This problem has been persisting for days without resolution. Any suggestions? I changed it just to see and that worked too. If it helps it let me use the $ as the special character. Make sure you follow the entire list of rules including: •Must be at least 8 character(s) long. •Must have at least 1 lower-case character(s). •Must have at least 1 upper-case character(s). •Must have at least 1 number(s). •Must have at least 1 symbol character(s). You remembered your old password. This person did not, so the path to entering a new password is different. Getting technical support via email isn't working well at all. The first email sent to DSST technical support was sent 13 days ago. DSST login problem - ajs1976 - 07-28-2015 Limit the special characters to ! @ $ & or *. Some systems only take a limited set of special characters. Usually it is more than the 5 I listed, but those should be the common ones. DSST login problem - clep3705 - 07-28-2015 Already tried that. DSST login problem - BGSU_Alum_86 - 07-31-2015 Is the person trying to reset password via email or via custom question? In order to utilize either one, the person must know their correct username. I have never run into a problem resetting via custom question (as long as the tester accurately remembered their real test username and not their practice test username). DSST login problem - clep3705 - 07-31-2015 The username is known. The help desk eventually reset the password and sent it to the test taker who is now able to login.
