NYU Language to COSC? - NonTrad - 09-24-2015

Hi Guys
Has anyone done the NYU Language test @ 16 credits and transferred to COSC? They list it on the master exam table but it's not clear how many credits they take, whether they come in as upper, lower, or a mix.
Thanks

Nevermind I found it.
Testing Programs - Charter Oak State College Catalog
New York University Language Exams

New York University School of Continuing Studies offers many foreign language exams. Charter Oak State College will award 12 lower level credits for the NYU 12-point examination and 12 lower and 4 upper for the 16-point examination.

Reaching out to them tomorrow to get clarity on how the off-site testing works. If the process is easy & credits welcoming for TESC/COSC. Would like to attempt German in Q1.

If that doesn't work out there's always the German CLEP although the most you can or earn is 12 credits and not 16.

I'm very interested in hearing more! I've known about this exam for a long time but never "met" anyone who took it.

Sending a request form in tomorrow for an off-site (Government) location and should have word back prior to close of year. Decided if approved to take the exam in Jan. CLEP is a strong option also but the possibility in the additional 4 Upper Level credits makes NYU worth attempting.

So, it's worth noting that the new CLEP score values are 6 (score of 50) or 9 (score of 60-something) they have done away with the 12 credit option. For those who took it BEFORE the change or were already enrolled (maybe) but for new testers, it's 9 cr. I don't know how many - if any- of those 9 are UL. Maybe 3 best case?
For sure the NYU upper level is a benefit that doesn't exist for CLEP, and the cost is important to note. For CLEP you're in for $80 and for NYU you're in for $400 if you attempt the 16 credit option. I think they allocate 8 UL credits for a passing score, but you'd have to check on that. 8 UL liberal arts credits for a few hundred is a STEAL.

Another option that also happens to be ACE evaluated (NYU isn't) http://www.languagetesting.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/ACE-ACTFL-Testing-Brochure.pdf
