Enrolled at TESC - Need Some Help Making Sure My Degree Plan Is Solid - msd2012 - 10-15-2015 Hi all, I posted this a few weeks ago (In the wrong area) but it got lost in the shuffle! Now, I am starting to complete more courses so I really need to ensure I'm on the right track. Let me start by saying I have been lurking here off and on for over 3 years! I have watched so many changes happen in requirements, from tesc to straighterline. I have watched it get, although still very doable, harder and harder. I have even had a baby during my period of lurking! I am a mom of 4, I home school, and I just didn't see how and when I would be able to get this done, and I questioned if it was smart to spend the money on this at the time. Well, everything has aligned perfectly for me and now is my time. Originally from Ohio, we moved to NJ 2 years ago which means I now get Resident rates at TESC. I am also eligible for several thousand in grants, which makes the comprehensive tuition plan at TESC a wonderful option. So, I bit the bullet and enrolled 9/17. Classes start 11/2, and in the last few weeks I plowed through Aleks, did every free course I could do and completed several SL courses. In a few weeks time, I am now up to 38 credits and I am enjoying the ride : ) So, here is where I need the help of you wonderful people. I have put together my degree plan for a BA in Social Sciences. I think I have it mostly together but I'm sure I am missing something and wanted to ask the pros. I am also unsure if what SL lists as "Student Success (FEL-199) is okay to use for TESC as a free elective, since I don''t see the course anywhere on the tesc site? I was thinking if necessary I can scrap something for Organizational Behavior at SL. Any input is extremely appreciated. The ones in bold are complete. There is one course that is in the wrong spot but it can be swapped with another course. Intro to psychology will not satisfy section B but can be moved to section C or D. Section B can be satisfied with anthropology or marriage and family which is in section C. I believe any course that is considered college level and that TESC recognizes for credit can be used for free electives so the FEL 199 should satisfy the free electives. I transferred in FEL 199 (not from SL but similar course) and TESC accepted it for credit. TESC put it in my other courses since I did not need it. A lot of courses will not be listed on TESC's website, only TESC courses are listed but will usually still be accepted for transfer by TESC. Cybersecurity for Everyone should go into Gen Ed electives as well (CIS-299). Please let us know what your TESC eval looks like when you get it, we are all waiting to see what they do with that Ethics course!! |
