Atabasca University for TESU UL CS courses? - TrailRunr - 03-12-2016 Atabasca Univeristy is an online school that is regionally accredited in the US by the MSCHE, so we are good there even though it is in Canada. I saw past postings, but nobody said if it was Canadian dollars or not. But that may have been when the CAD was at parity with the USD. The CAD has depreciated a lot versus the USD. The cost is CAD$1014, which is around US$770. That is about half the price of a TESU course under PCTP. We are short 3 courses for TESU CS UL and 1 capstone outside of the MIS DSST and CSU-G Sys Analysis CBE. So the savings is around $1400 after paying for 7 passed TECEPs (it's like getting paid $200 for each TECEP you pass). If you are going Enrolled Options, the cost is similar for each school. Register by April 10 to start by May 1 Here are courses that might be UL based upon my interpretation of what counted as LL and UL CS in the PLA database: CMIS 351 - Management Information Systems (take the MIS DSST instead for less $$$) CMIS 455 - Accounting Information Systems COMP 314 - Operating Systems COMP 361 - Systems Analysis and Design (take the CSU-G CBE instead for less $$$) COMP 372 - Design and Analysis of Algorithms COMP 378 - Introduction to Database Management COMP 382 - 3D Programming in Java COMP 390 - Computer Graphics COMP 393 - Advanced Graphics with Shaders COMP 410 - Software Engineering COMP 418 - Distributed Database Systems and Database Tuning COMP 444 - Embedded/Robotic Programming COMP 452 - Artificial Intelligence for Game Developers COMP 456 - Artificial Intelligence COMP 482 - Human Computer Interaction COMP 489 - Distributed Computing COMP 501 - Systems Development with Emerging Technology COMP 503 - IT Hardware and Software (this looks like a Computer Architecture course) COMP 504 - Object Structure and Programming COMP 602 - Enterprise Information Management COMP 604 - Enterprise Computer Networks COMP 610 - Software Engineering COMP 617 - Designing Real-time Software COMP 635 - Green ICT Strategies COMP 637 - Mobile Computing COMP 638 - Enterprise Modeling COMP 657 - Artificial Intelligence: Principles and Techniques COMP 658 - Computational Intelligence COMP 659 - Statistical Language Processing for Text Analytics COMP 660 - Enterprise Information Security COMP 667 - Multiagent Systems COMP 674 - Theory of Computation COMP 682 - Data Mining COMP 683 - Introduction to Learning and Knowledge Analytics COMP 684 - Business Intelligence COMP 688 - Software Testing and Quality Assurance COMP 689 - Advanced Distributed Systems Anyone try Atabasca before? Atabasca University for TESU UL CS courses? - alleycat - 03-12-2016 Athabasca U does not accept DSST exams or Clep exams. They are very slow in evaluations. Very slow. They are not as generous is granting upper level as I thought. They also require course outlines for ever course they do not grant upper level too. It's painful. I had a friend apply and it's been nothing but stress and heart ache for her. The premise of this school is great. Getting it done is another question. Atabasca University for TESU UL CS courses? - TrailRunr - 03-12-2016 This is for outbound transfer of credits to TESU. I couldn't care less about inbound credits. But now I know I shouldn't bother to get a degree from them.
Atabasca University for TESU UL CS courses? - TrailRunr - 03-15-2016 Bump to see if anyone has considered this option for UL CS transfer credits. |
